About Stefania

Hi!  I’m Stefania Basile, proud owner of Pilates Room Kanata!I am  a very passionate and purpose driven individual on a mission to help you feel your best through Pilates! As a dancer and lover of all things health, fitness and wellness I was naturally drawn to Pilates  for the added strength, endurance, stability and flexibility challenge it provided. It wasn’t until after I experienced a difficult injury when I really started to appreciate the deep restorative mind body connection aspect of this practice.  It is safe to say that Pilates has always been there for me! 

With my STOTT PILATES Certification, I combine my expertise in Pilates and take the time to empathetically listen to my clients to create personalized programs. My goal is for you to have a whole new appreciation for yourself and what your body is capable of achieving! Seeing my clients reach their goals is by far the most rewarding part of my job!

What you can expect

Using postural analysis, I  create a workout that suits your individual needs. This will help you move more efficiently and avoid or fix any issues that may cause you pain or injury. I am proficient in using postural analysis both statically (from a standing posture with no movement) as well as dynamically ( body in movement). In 2012 when I set out to do my first Teacher Training I was drawn to STOTT PILATES for the many qualities it values in their teachers.  Being able to modify exercises to safely and effectively teach my clients was of the utmost importance. I place a great emphasis on understanding different posture types and fitness levels, ranging from athletes to those who are just starting on their fitness journey. There is something for everybody! The 6 Biomechanical Principles I learned through the STOTT PILATES methodology will be used to ensure proper form to safely balance muscular strength, stability, and flexibility. I have absolutely loved my Pilates sessions with Stefania. My sessions build off the last and always challenge me in new ways. Her lesson plans are thoughtful and are designed for to my individual needs. She did an initial assessment when I first came and I can already feel a big difference in those muscle groups that needed more work. Since working with her, I feel I have more agility, more strength, and more awareness of my core and pelvic floor. I have less back pain and I can feel the difference Reformer Pilates has made in my day-to-day activities as well as my other workouts
